Clapton!

I just got Eric Clapton tickets (for June 21)! They are pretty good seats, not as good as the 12th row center Doug and I got last year (I'm such a row-dropper), but they are in the first section up, in the fifth row. Doug and I decided this should be Frank's first concert.

I love music so much, there aren't words. I can't explain it. The closest I ever got was to say I live my life by soundtrack.

I will never, ever forget seeing Eric Clapton play Layla live and being so close I could see the expression on his face. Even if I live to be 147, I will never forget the feeling I had. I'd have to ask Doug, but it wouldn't be that big of a surprise if I was crying.

So, Frank is getting to see one of the greatest guitar players of all time for his first concert. I hope it is something he remembers and appreciates in years to come. I hope he learns to love music as much as I do and love hiking as much as his dad does. Those are our equivalent passions.

CJ's Coming to Visit!

At 11:00pm tonight I am picking CJ up at the airport. I am sooooo happy he is coming to visit. Thank goodness we have an event at the wine bar that will keep me there until 10:00 anyway, and awake. The drive to DIA isn't easy, but the drive home will be.

CJ and I can talk for hours (and hours and hours and hours). When he drove back here with me from California when I brought my mother's belongings here, 20 hours flew by because we talked almost non-stop the entire way.

I'm so glad we've stayed friends. It doesn't always happen that way. People who we think we will be friends with forever, somehow slip away without us even recognizing it is happening.
