Drinky

When Beckett is thirsty he always says, "Mom, I'm drinky." It drives Doug crazy, but I think it's cute. My grandmother used to tell me that when I was hungry I would say, "I hun-gy." She thought it was adorable.

The other story she told often was that one day I was walking up the cellar stairs and stubbed my toe. Out came, "Jesus Christ!" She and my grandfather overheard me say it, and she said, "Heather, what did you just say?" I responded, "Oh, that's just a little prayer I say sometimes." Good catch for a three-year-old I'd say.

Beckett watched Zababoomafou today. It reminded me that it was one of the only television shows Frank watched when he was little. We all loved Zabou. Which also reminded me that when he was four, he would set his Timon and Pumba up in front of the television to watch the show with him. It made me sad at the time. I suppose an only child feeling the pain of an only child, although I doubt he felt what I was feeling. After all, he had a little brother on the way.
