Today I am thankful for the time I spend with Frank. I told him last night that I am not anxious for him to start driving. And it isn’t out of fear. Instead it is because when I pick him up, or drop him off, it is our time. We chat about what he’s doing, or what he’s just done. We listen to music . . . we share music, would be a more appropriate way to put it.
I know the time I have with him, the time before he leaves for college, and then to begin his life as an independent adult, is fleeting.
I am thankful that I didn’t wake up too late and miss savoring this time with him.
